How to Use Saphir Omni Nettoyant February 20 2014
Saphir Omni Nettoyant is a suede shampoo which cleans and removes stains from suede, nubuck, and textiles. Unlike smooth leather, suede's soft texture prevents scratches and scuffs. However, the suede pile is prone to accumulating dirt and stains. Bring your favorite pair of suede shoes back to life with the Saphir Omni Nettoyant. Suede's special texture requires a special cleaning technique.
What You'll Need:
- Suede Eraser
- Shoe trees
- Dauber brush
- Soft towel
- Suede brush
- Bottle of Saphir Omni Nettoyant
1. Prepping Your Shoes
Always start by rough cleaning your shoes. Easily clean your shoes by removing the shoelaces and inserting shoe trees, such as the Woodlore Cedar Shoe Trees. Next, gently brush your shoe with a suede brush to remove built-up dirt. Remove slight marks with a suede eraser. Run the brush over again to remove any excess eraser.
2. Using Saphir Omni Nettoyant
In a small bowl, mix a 50/50 solution of Saphir Omni Nettoyant and room-temperature water. Then take a dauber brush (we find the large brush more efficient) included in the kit, and work the solution into a lather over the shoe. Next, empty out the solution and rinse off the brush. Dip the brush into a bowl of warm water, working the suede until there is no lather. This ensures you have removed the Omni Nettoyant. Pat the suede dry with a dry towel and let dry overnight.
3. Brushing and Finishing
After a night of air drying, brush the suede with a suede brush to bring back the texture and color of the finish. Follow up with suede protector, if desired.
